Are you Peter Scolari or Tom Hanks?

There was a time in this world when people thought of Peter Scolari and Tom Hanks like this (above). They were the cross-dressing comic nobodies in Hollywood. I remember watching Bosom Buddies as a kid. I thought it was a really funny show. What's better than two guys living in an all womens apartment complex?
I always wondered how Tom Hanks was able to break through and not be type-cast as a cross-dresser. I wondered this because clearly Peter Scolari couldn't do it. No one has seen or heard of Peter Scolari since Bosom Buddies. For the rest of life, whenever someone says the name Peter Scolari, I will think Bosom Buddies. Conversely, Tom Hanks is now considered one of the greatest actors of our generation. He was in award winning films such as Forrest Gump, Apollo 13, and Philadelphia. We have stopped thinking of him as some hack actor doing a moderately funny sitcom.
We are not destined to be what we have been. We have the chance and the ability to change. If you have previously not been good with money, then move on. If you have previously made poor economic decisions, then move on. If you have failed at something in the past, then that doesn't make you a failure. Ask yourself how you view yourself financially. Ask yourself how others view you financially. If you want to be viewed differently by either yourself or someone else, then get after it. The past is the past, but if you don't progress in your money skills, then you WILL FAIL. Stop saying that you "aren't good with money". That phrase will remain reality the longer you continue to say it.
* Note to Peter Scolari's attorneys: At no point in time during this blog entry did I mean to infer that Peter Scolari is a failure. He is Hollywood royalty. He went on to star in television classics such as "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (The TV Show)" and "Fire: Trapped on the 37th Floor".
