New world water economics

Dante Smith (pictured above) has given us tremendous food for thought for years. He is an urban poet with quite the environmental sensibility. He is quite fond of discussing the concept of "new world water". The concept of "new world water" addresses the hypocrisy of our societies usage of water. We, as a society, do incredibly strange things with water. And corporate America does even stranger things with water. As consumers, we do strange things such as drink bottled water yet cool it down with ice made from tap water. Corporate America is charged with polluting water, then purifying it to sell back to us.

I am by no means an environmentalist, but I do appreciate the concept because I think that the banking industry does the same thing. Banks, specifically credit card companies, work day and night to get you to spend money. They want you to overspend. They don't make money unless you spend too much. Talk about the ultimate commission sales scenario. Once they accomplish their goal of getting you to overspend, they swoop in and try to act like the hero. They preach that you should maintain your credit card payments properly in order to maintain good credit. They do this so that you can continue to use their services. They are polluting your financial water, and then purifying it to sell back to you.

Further irony: we don't have enough water to put out our wildfires, but if we don't put out the fires, then the smoke creates toxic rain, but its not raining or there wouldn't be wildfires, but when it does rain we can't use the water in our homes because it is toxic which then creates an overall water shortage, therefore we can't use the water to put out the wildfires.
