Good deal for someone, bad deal for someone else

Why does an extra-small shirt cost the same as a double extra-large? There clearly is much cloth involved with the double XL. Is the double XL patron getting a better deal, or is the extra-small person getting the shaft. An extra large fountain beverage costs more than a small. Mrs. Planner is out of town this week, and I laid awake last night running this conundrum through my head. I welcome your thoughts on this.
